Who We Are

As we say on our front page, Christ Episcopal Church is a vibrant and engaging community of faith in the heart of the Puyallup valley. We are made up of people of all ages, races, and backgrounds. We welcome and affirm LGBTQIA+ people. We seek to practice to the best of our ability diversity and inclusion. We practice a living faith that is rooted in the person of Jesus of Nazareth and the witness of scripture, but also embrace what science, history, and the liberal arts have to teach.

In the other pages on this site you will see that we reach out into the world in love and concern for the wellbeing of those in need. We partner with a number of charitable organizations in Puyallup and beyond. Our worship is grounded in a rich tradition dating back centuries and at the same time is relevant to today. We seek to actively respond to the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of those who come within our doors.

As members of the Episcopal Church, we do not function as a stand alone congregation. We are part of the Diocese of Olympia, the group of Episcopal congregations in Western Washington. Founded about 150 years ago, our congregation has a rich past, a vibrant present, and a hopeful future. Through it all we have made it our purpose to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves.

OUR MISSION:

We EMBRACE all people in Christ’s love. We are EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit through prayer, learning, and spiritual growth. We joyfully SERVE God in the world.
